The Office of the Official Assignee is responsible for the administration of insolvent estates and properties assigned by the courts under the Provincial Insolvency Act, 1920, and other applicable laws. The office takes custody of assigned properties, realises assets, distributes proceeds to creditors in accordance with court orders, maintains records of insolvency proceedings, and acts as an officer of the court in matters of insolvency, liquidation, and assignment within its jurisdiction.
